
Under 10, 11 & 12 Summer Competitions

The Under 10, Under 11 and Under 12 competitions are organised by the Eastern Districts Junior Cricket Association and provide age-based games against nearby cricket clubs.
We have limited vacancies in our U10, U11 and U12 teams for Term 1, 2026. Please get in touch with our Registrar for more information.

Age Requirements
The age your child is on 31 August determines the relevant age group.

Players who are aged 8 on 31 August 2025 are eligible to play in the Under 9 competition.

Players who are aged 9 or under on 31 August 2025 are eligible to play in the Under 10 competition.

Players who are aged 10 or under on 31 August 2025 are eligible to play in the Under 11 competition.

Players who are aged 11 or under on 31 August 2025 are eligible to play in the Under 12 competition.

Players who are aged 12 or over on 31 August 2025 are eligible to play in the Divisional Cricket competition.
Based on ability, players may be able to play up an age group. Female players can play down two age groups.

Games
The Under 10s to Under 12s competitions are focused on fun and participation, and developing skills for later age groups. There are no point ladders or championship titles within these competitions.
U10s games are 25 overs in length, and are played on a 16m length pitch.

U11 and U12 games are 25 overs in length, and are played on a 18m length pitch.
Under 11 players who play in the pre-Christmas competition are also invited to participate in the Annual Ron Eager Cup held in the December school holidays. A select number of U12 players are also invited to trial for the U12 BEARS junior cricket representative teams.

Games are held on either Saturday mornings (8am start), Saturday afternoons (1pm start), or early evenings on Friday or Saturday (5pm start).
Your Team Manager will advise the team of game details and how to access the draw.

Team Numbers

Under 10 teams will have up to 11 players in total, with 8 players on the field at any one time.

U11 & U12 teams will have up to 13 players in total, with 11 players on the field at any one time.

Training
Training is held at nearby schools or Whites Hill Reserve. Your training day and time will be decided based on your team's preferences and venue availability. Your Team Manager will discuss this with you before the commencement of the season.
​
Equipment
All equipment is provided for the team for both training and games. Your player is welcome to use their own equipment, but please label every piece clearly.
​
Uniforms
All players require a HPJCC Playing Shirt ($32), HPJCC Wide-brim Hat ($22) or Cap ($22) and wear white cricket pants (available from Kmart, Best & Less, Rebel).

Volunteering
​Our Club only operates through the generosity of volunteers, you will be asked how you can assist when you complete the online registration form - there are roles to suit everybody! Parents are also required to assist in running the games through umpiring, scoring or the all-important morning tea duty!​​
